An impressive Emergenza’s first round in Tampa
Four brilliant nights for the Cigar City’s kick-off
We had so many great bands in Tampa two weeks ago for the first round!
Had some great music, great turnout, and a fun place to play!
Thursday, November 9th
Cult ClassiC started us off on Thursday! They were a pop-punk-band with a great deal of stage presence.
Next in the line up was Noiretblanc: the vocals had a very interesting but good sound with tight rhythm behind it. CIO followed and had a very lighthearted fun set, but what else did you expect from a ska-band?
If Betrayed, a 5 piece metal band, then took the stage and killed the audience with great guitar work and killer vocals.
Remnants of was up next, a really tight hardcore band with a great drummer!
Switching it up a bit was Impulse, a world beat band that played all types of island music and had the entire crowd dancing along!
Friday, November 10th
We continued Friday with more great music.
Parkbench started us off with some great songwriting, followed by a guitar driven band: She Said Murder.
Mobius Loop then took the stage with great lyrics and driving guitars.
Returning from last year was Smashism Kills, a punk band, that worked really hard from last year and really developed their sound. Space Brain had some of the best stage presence all weekend! They really got the crowd moving.
Mark of Distinction brought a lot of energy with them, and Caibel finished up the show with great vocals and guitars.
Saturday, November 11th
The M1’s opened Saturday up with great songs, a very energetic DC North followed them with a great stage show.
Next up was Retaliation, epic-symphonic-progressive-power-metal with a vocalist that just joined the group.
Shades of Twilight was up next, with a smashing 3 guitars! Following was Table 13, a returning pop-punk band from last year.
Regret & Forgive again was an emo-rock band with lots of energy and good vocals.
Endless Suspension was a true punk band complete with fowl lyrics and attitude.
Belmont PL finished out the night with a rockin’ set.
Sunday, November 12th
Sunday started out with The Scarlet Alliance. The vocalist was a female screamer, and just wow.
Next on stage was the Justin Layman Band, just an incredible group of musicians.
Muddy Creek stole the crowd with a classic rock sound, followed by Damascus Road, a rock band that was very entertaining.
They pulled the trick where the guitar and the bass stand back to back and play each others instruments and the crowd went wild!
Up next was The Hero Dies, a 3 piece punk rock band with a really tight rhythm section.
Better than Nothing had a great set followed by Tator Junktion. The Bonham House pulled off a really great acoustic rock set and finished off our weekend at the Orpheum.
All in all, it was a great weekend for local music!
