If you're looking for a band, Detroit’s got it!
The bright music side of the Motor City
What a weekend here in Detroit Rock City! This week featured bands from all sorts of genres: We had rock, metal, hip-hop, funk, even ska. No doubt: three exciting nights!
Friday, November 10th
Friday showcased some really great bands. The top voted band of the night was Deadhouse.
This band taught a lesson in how to bring old school metal to the mainstream. Even the Hip-hop crew was getting down with Deadhouse.
The Lawbreakers, now this was a Hip-hop group breaking new ground. With a divers crowd even the metal guys were getting down with The Lawbreakers “Head Bangin’ Shit”.
Saturday, November 11th
Saturday was packed with even more talented bands.
The Violent Tradition took the top voted spot with a theatrical show, featuring the lead singer with a hand painted skeleton on his body which he painted most if it himself. But this says nothing about how tight this band it. This band is on the verge of blowing tool out of the water.
I couldn’t leave without talking about a few more bands. I just couldn’t do it!
Jim Jones’ Party Mix, man can those guitarists play. This Band had two amazing dueling guitar players, and one hell of a keyboardist to boot.
Next on my list to mention is the great vocalist from a band called Remnant. This guy can sing! There’s nothing like hearing a great hard rock band with an amazing lead singer!
Speaking of lead singers, the lead vocalist from the band Unknowndestination, Oh boy!, he plays the drums and sings. Wow I haven’t seen that since I seen Phil Collins.
Sunday, November 12th
Don’t forget Self-Titled. These guys thru down on Sunday with Unknowndestination, making a great show and closing out the weekend at Alvin’s with a Bang!
There’s never an upset in Detroit. You better make sure to follow along on Emergenza’s website to see what happens next with these band.
