Art & Ransom is a surprisingly sophisticated ass-kicking indie rock band that wouldn't use phrases like ass-kicking unless their bassist was up late typing their bio. People so far have had a lot of trouble comparing us to different bands, but we could loosely be tied to the melodic indie niche of Broken Social Scene, or maybe the more intense indie sounds of Cursive or the more cheery Decemberists. Various members of the band have been playing together for a few years, but this band was more officially formed with all of its current members in August 2005.
