SDM are a Dublin four-piece combining the power and virtuosity of rock, funk and metal with a melodic sweetness more readily associated with folk and classic pop. With influences like U2, Pearl Jam, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Thin Lizzy, their sound is anthemic, emotional and completely engaging, and they have built up a solid fanbase throughout the Dublin area with their original songs and unpredictable, energetic live shows.

SDM were formed in 2003 by two cousins, singer/multi-instrumentalist Dave Lundy and guitarist Aaron Jackson, and completed by Brian Quigley on bass and Steve Gladwell on drums. Having been fired up by the original rock ‘n’ rollers of the 60s and 70s, and encouraged by the way Nirvana and Pearl Jam revitalised the form in the early 90s, SDM were dismayed at the lack of anything vital and inspiring on the contemporary rock scene, and set out to shake it back to life.

Their impact on Dublin’s live music landscape was immediate, and they became known for their incendiary performances as well as their instantly memorable songs. Now rehearsing, recording and gigging more than ever before, SDM should be seen sooner rather than later, as they are set to make a bigger noise on a bigger stage before too long.
