TOP STORIES
Star Belgrade began with a demo EP recorded on 4 track in the kitchen of the lead singer "the intention was to get as much radio airplay as possible without spending any money" says Mike
who soon realised that this was an impossible venture - "It costs money to get your music noticed -
In the end, I had to fork out & buy CDRs, stamps & envelopes!"

The "investment" paid off. Within days of sending out the demo, Steve Lamacq took the bait when
"Red Arc" featured as the "Session Unsgined Spotlight Track" on his BBC Radio 1 show.

"It just goes to show you that you don't necessarily have to go into a big, expensive 24 track studio
to make something that will grab people's attention... that's a real grower that track"
(Steve Lamacq)

From that, interest grew - Aligre FM in Paris requested Mike to record a session for their station.
It recieved heavy airplay & featured in the stations Top 30 playlisted tracks amongst the likes of
Interpol, Frank Black, Coldplay & David Bowie.

"I was happy when it got to No.22 - but pissed off I'd beaten Frank Black.. his songs are much better!"
(Mike Burrows)

The band came together in July 2005 & over 4 months they have written the basis of their debut album which they intend to record in 2006.

"It all came together really fast - the 1st rehearsal was electric & it just snowballed from there" (Paul McDonagh, drummer).

They are currently in negotiations with Red Factory records bashing out a publishing & distribution deal for Irealnd & the UK.

The future looks bright for this band.
