dEEd fired up when lead guitarist Olof Gustafsson came back to Sweden after spending a period of time in India. When he left in 2006, the band was playing Swedish rock/folk music under the name "Saidi och kollektivet", but during the band break, the desicion was made to move towards heavier music.
The band members has influences from all kinds of music, but you can summarize it all by a simple rule - The rule is that every riff, every chord and every melody can fit, as long as it can grow a groove. In a world full of over-produced superficial music, dEEd is the opposite of just that.
Like all great metal bands, dEEd has three guitars, but the band originally consisted of a two-guitar setup. But a few months after the start, guitarist Carl Åbjörnsson joined the band and completed the sound with one final guitar. Carl has a history with a many members of dEEd, as he together with Daniel Saidi and Olof Gustafsson originates from the metal band sgt. Black, active in Norrköping, Sweden during 2004-2006. Before that he played with Daniel Saidi and Mathias Roitto in "New Wave Stoner", so Carl was just returning to his natural habitat! Since all members of dEEd have metal and hard rock roots, you can simply say we all have found back to where we belong!
