Joika was founded in 2007 by Josh, Vincent and Dylan and started out as an alternative Rock project that rehearsed about once a month. With growing age the main influences of the band shifted and changed their music. Modern Importances to the world of Indie as the Strokes, The Rakes, Radiohead, Beck, the Whitest Boy Alive or Franz Ferdinand made their music more energetic and interesting. Still they did not become hipsters of some new "youth scene", but instead stayed like they had been til then which was also thanks to Vincents influences of older bands such as The Who, the Beatles or Emerson,Lake&Palmer. After their first gig and growing interst of friends, rehearses became more regular and serious. Since 2009 Roman has started playing guitar and keyboard in the band and has added his own style to the band.
