Formed in 2007, Playing With Diana started out as nothing more than a “support group” for members of bands that had broken apart. Guitarist Keif Pun was in Rubberman and had achieved local recognition (CHOM l’Esprit winners in 2002, Mix 96 songwriting competition winners in 2001) until contract negotiations with their label turned ugly leading to the departure of lead singer Jonas (Deja Musique). Bass player Chris Garratt laid the foundation for Ryde until lead singer Justin Humes was recruited by Pospstars (Global TV). Drummer, Geoff Hughes, made waves with Freshly Squeezed (CHOM l’Esprit finalists 2003), but the band drifted apart due to creative differences. Singer, Joel Sauve, played in The Vague (CHOM l’Esprit finalists 2003) and also suffered the same fate.

With no one else to turn to, PWD was born and as therapy to their wounded souls The Path of Most Resistance was recorded. With the assistance of producer, Tim Greencorn, the album was recorded over a period of one year at Little Chicago Studios based out of Ottawa. The trek between Montreal and Ottawa, at times, seemed cumbersome, but it was well worth the trouble. With tracks ranging from the drug inflicted You Complicate to the heartbreak sob of September a true tale of struggle and turmoil is told. But alas, through all the despair comes a sense of closure and revelation as the conveniently titled The Path Cyclonic of Most Resistance closes the album.
