    RED RACER began inauspiciously in a seedy opium den in Singapore. In the perfect confusion only smoke, nudity and fake velvet can induce, vocalist Tom Townshend convinced Steve Ridzon to leave the dark world of monkey smuggling behind him to pursue a lucrative career as a bass player. Choosing at that very moment to focus on Rock instead of a Latin Jazz World Beat Funk Hybrid, they made a pact that would bind them forever to scour the earth to it's four corners to find the best of all possible musicians. With the lineup finalized, they planned to settle in Washington DC: where every musician is a millionaire, every lover is faithful, and every band van sails smoothly down the street without a pothole to be found.
