Each member of Imprint has devoted a significant portion of their life to the creation of music. Matthew Johnson (vocals) and Brad Holstine (guitar) have been playing together for over seven years in a variety of local projects, resulting in many performances at various Philadelphia and Delaware Valley venues. Harold Echols (drums) and Kevin Mooney (bass, vocals) in the meantime, have been playing together for over nine years, achieving regional success in the locally popular hardcore project Chine, including a summer 1999 performance at the Vans Warped Tour in Philadelphia, performing several shows at the legendary Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, and even opening for the popular Buffalo, NY, based Snapcase.
As a result, Imprint combines diverse musical influences ranging from: Quicksand, The Deftones, Helmet, Tool, Alice In Chains, Snapcase, Bjork, Sevendust, Incubus, Faith No More, Primus, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and various others.
Imprint has achieved success in the Philadelphia region by playing venues/ clubs such as The Whiskey Tango, Doc Watsons, Brownies 23 East, The Pontiac Grille, and The Grape Street Pub. Currently they are looking to increase their presence nationally, with the release of their diverse debut self-titled full length record. Their growing popularity and rabid fanbase have enabled them to be featured artists in "Out On The Town", and "Pulse Weekly" entertainment magazines and earned the band an August 2002 performance at The Vans Warped Tour at The Tweeter Center in Camden, New Jersey. In October 2003, Imprint was named by Philadelphia's 94.1 WYSP as The Loud and Local Rockstars of the month and played live on the air at the 94.1 WYSP studios during Tommy Conwell's Loud and Local program.
The prognosis for 2003/ 2004 has yet to be determined, so stay tuned.
