The Fallen One began in November of 2002. Rachael and Odell were going to see a show, and a mutual friend mentioned to Rachael that Odell was a drummer looking for a band. They struck up a conversation and began writing songs together. They decided that they wanted a more layered sound, so they decided to find another guitarist along with a bass player. They put out an ad, and Chris answered it. He came over to audition, and thought Rachael and Odell were pretty weird. Several drinks later, he decided to stick around anyway.
After a rough time finding a permanent bass player, they decided to stay a three piece. Since the band’s formation, The Fallen One has played several venues, including the Velvet Lounge, The Blue Nile, and the Grog and Tankard in DC, Hiaasmen’s in Maryland, The Royal Lee in Virginia, and the C-note in New York. The band has also shared the stage with many talented bands, including: Jessenk, Spindrift, Alcian Blue, The Chance,The Homeowners, Sentai, The Kudzu Wish, and Cinemechanica among others.
