Fronted by singer-songwriter Adrien Rejú, Rejú's songs combine insightful lyrics with striking accompaniments, showing traces of influence from the styles of Jonatha Brooke, Gillian Welch, and the folk “newgrass” trio Nickel Creek. With audience favorites like “Floating,” “Why,” and “The Gang of Cool,” their songs generate a refreshing and infectious sound that has listeners singing along and wanting more.

At an early age, the budding singer was enamored with the voices of Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper, and Aretha Franklin, all of whom she tried to imitate. If there is one thing she has learned from these divas, it is to find beauty in the distinctive qualities of your own voice. The unique beauty of Adrien’s voice is in its clarity, melismatic grace, and wide range, coupled with pure spirited delivery, a hint of melancholy, and a lot of heart.

Over the past seven years, Adrien Rejú’s music has been heard on the East Coast from the Finger Lakes Region in western New York to below the Mason-Dixon Line, and into the hills of West Virginia. Currently Rejú is taking the Philadelphia, New York City and Southern New Jersey music scenes by storm, performing at festivals, acoustic venues, theaters, pubs, coffee houses, and art galleries. The band has been quickly gaining notoriety with their self-titled debut CD which was featured in the “Favorites of 2003” playlist on WDIY (88.1 and 93.9, Lehigh Valley, PA).

Completing the ensemble of Rejú are the melodious bass lines and vocal harmonies of Steven Goodsell and the eclectic sounds of Josh Robinson’s “Garden of Percussion” (as nicknamed by Adrien). Other cameo appearances with the band have included Todd Barneson (Philadelphia-based mandolin and guitar player), John Kerr (Boston-based drummer), and Kevin Frank (the band’s original drummer).
