The band ULTRA underground has its origins as a a group of young musicians heavily influenced by the music of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Heroes del Silencio, Caifanes, and other heavy international bands. Since its beginnings, the main founding core of the group, consisting of solely Ruben and Efren, have remained together through its various incarnations. Since 98, ULTRA underground have stepped aside from their original heavy way into a more melodic and alternative direction. With the musical growth of the members, the band has taken to the influences of early underground bands such as the Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode, the Smiths, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Chameleons and other similar bands from that genre. The band welcome the use of technology in their performances and are awaiting to see where their musical road will take them.
