1) Your first gig for Emergenza is a few days away – how do you feel?

Im just feeling really proud actually. I created all the music everything you hear by myself & I can now perform it for crowds such as emergenza yes im really excited.

    What can the audience expect from you guys?

My set is quite a blend of feels. you'll be able to dance and then there are a few ballads that I've written it will be quite a rollercoaster.

3) How did you end up playing music together?

I performed a lot of Jazz standards singing in a big brass band and then fell in love with making electronic music and i think I've brought a lot of my past influences along with me.

4) Any hidden messages behind your band name? Who came up with the name and how?

Unless my parents had a secret meaning behind my name sadly no theres no secret. It's just me.

5) Hayden Buchanan is headlining the ultimate dream festival – which legendary bands (past or present) would you want to play along with?

Id love to play alongside Ta-Ku, Chet Faker, Michael Bublé & lianne La Havas.

6) Are there any artists who have influenced the bands style?

I think different elements of my music are influenced by different genres & artists. Lyrically my time in musical theatre has shaped my phrasing, musically my time in jazz has pulled heavy on my choice of keys tempo & Chord progressions and being a fan of electronic music has shaped how I pull those all together.

7) Finally, why should the audience vote for Hayden Buchanan at The Lair @ Metro?

I think that if the audience likes the stories that im telling through
my songs and performance they may want to see me tell more at the next show.
