Hey guys, great news about getting through to the semi finals. Just how good did it feel when you found out the crowd had voted for you?

We were stoked! The other musicians were all very talented, so it was tough competition and we are very happy to have made it through. 

Why do you think they voted for you ? What have you guys got the others haven't ;-p

We believe our songs are quite catchy and easy to dance and sing along to. Plus we believe we are a fun and energetic band- we love what we do- and we hope that shows up on stage.

How are you preparing for the next round?

We're bringing out a new song- it's very upbeat and catchy so we're hoping the crowd like it!

Describe your sound.

Modern Pop-Rock, but some of our songs have a slight 90's sound.

Which great bands have influenced your sound?

Other female influences like the Divinyls, Pat Benetar, Blondie etc. 

Tell us a bit about the song-writing process. What inspires you?

One of us will generally write the base of the song (lyrics, vocals, chords) and then we will all listen and make suggestions, add other instrument parts and finally polish it up to play. Our songs are inspired by everyday feelings and experiences- they are kind of like a musical diary. 

Finally, why should The Skampz make it through to the finals?

To travel to Germany ;) But also we'd love the opportunity to get our music heard and be exposed to other great bands in Melbourne.
