We sat down and spoke to Broadmeadows. Melbourne's "cool as fuck" original 5 piece group playing at the Evelyn Hotel on the 7th of April.


They are funny, irreverent and cheeky and that's why we like them......especially giving answer number 4.


This young band has obviously a clear idea about their art rock. What these boys are doing is something original but not only in sound but also in their approach to the project.........as we found out.




WHAT SORT OF SOUND CAN THE PUBLIC EXPECT FROM YOU AT THE EVELYN?

We’ve spent a lot of time over the past couple of years exploring the genres that we all love. Let’s say art rock.

HOW DID YOU ALL MEET & HOW LONG HAS THE BAND BEING TOGETHER?

Camp Kangaroobie in year 7. Baljosh was a foreign exchange student in year 12.

We’ve been together 2 years but in our hearts it feels like 10.

THE NAME: WHY BROADMEADOWS? WHO CHOSE IT? REALLY GUYS….NO LIES ALLOWED OK? ;)

If by local you mean Greensborough, it’s thriving. We played at our local pizza bar once. We sold out. The pizza is thriving as well. It sold out.

IF YOU CAUGHT YOUR BEST FRIEND’S LITTLE BROTHER LISTENING TO REALLY CRAP DANCE MUSIC, WOULD YOU:

A)  TIE HIM UP AND FORCE HIM TO LISTEN TO YOUR FAVOURITE BAND

B)  LET HIM BE

C)  TELL HIM TO PICK UP AN INSTRUMENT

The dance music isn’t as crap as this question.

So as we close off, I can't think but quoting what my old manager used to say about being in a band: "don't take yourself too seriously but take what you do, very seriously". And so with their last answer we can safely say that these lads are approaching their lives the way music is supposed to be.....with fun.
