The interview with DIME from Sydney, live @the Metro Theatre tonight for Emergenza Festival Australia:
EXPLAIN TO US WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT YOUR BAND FROM ANY OTHER BAND IN YOUR GENRE?
We use more distortion!!! I'm kidding!! We all come from different styles, we tried to combine them and create songs to make different
kinds of rock accessible to everyone.
(Jaume-Spain)
WHAT FIRST GOT YOU INTO SONG WRITING AND PLAYING LIVE?
Being inspired by some of my favourite artists caused me to want to find that self-actualisation and passion that I could hear in their lyrics and
music. It's true music has the ability to transcend and ask questions of the listener or the writer that mightn't be ordinarily asked. A lot of personal
feelings and ideas come forth in the power of music and I think that's why I was drawn to it and why over the years it's remained. As far as first
playing live that's a big step for any writer or singer, but I think that the more you work on your craft the more you are excited to share it in the
hope that a little bit of what you experienced in its creation is understood.
(Leigh-OZ)
WHAT`S SPECIAL ABOUT A DIME GIG?
Rock and metal riffs with space for melody!!! What else? I mean, would you like to move your head but to keep it also melodic and with a good sound? Well, here is what you are looking for!
(Gianluca-Italy)
WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE TOGETHER AS A BAND?
Moving G's drum kit from the city to the Mountains by train and bus
(Jaume)
WHAT'S THE MOST INSANE PART OF EMERGENZA SO FAR?
Having this gig in a big spot..you know, I think that all musicians dream to play in big places and for us, for now this is going to come true at The
Metro and also, if we were to win this final, the idea to fly to another country, to play in front of 20.000 people and maybe to play together on
the main stage with international musicians is just... INSANE!
(Gianluca)
HOW'S IT FEEL TO BE IN THE STATE FINALS? AND WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT PLAYING @ THE METRO THEATRE?
The Metro is an iconic venue and it's a real thrill to experience a concert from the stage and to invite our friends to be a part of it. Being on stage
is the main thing however taking in the whole experience is important; being there during the day, sound checking, checking the place out, the
whole tension building up to when the lights go on. I can't bloody wait!! Watching other bands, brews, understanding what it's like for the bands and
artists that have taken the stage there. Pretty cool.
(Leigh)
IF YOU HAVE THE DESIRE TO SHOUT OUT TO ANY OF THE BANDS OR SAY ANY THANKS, DO SO HERE:
I just wish the best to all the other bands.. unfortunately only one is going to Germany but, this doesn`t mean that we have to fight between us..
yes, we are going to put everything in the final but with respect of others. At the end I think that we are all friends, connected with the same
passion.
(Gianluca)
My best wishes to all of then, we meet awesome bands and awesome people. They all do a great job and I want them to keep playing!!
(Jaume)
