The interview with DESERT SPARROW from Sydney, live @the Metro Theatre tonight for Emergenza Festival Australia:
SO, DO YOU THINK YOU'RE READY FOR THE BIG NIGHT?
Absolutely! Ready to rock and rumble.
WHAT’S THE BAND DOING TO GET READY FOR THE FINALS? REHEARSING MUCH?
Rehearsing as much as we can for sure and working out the final kinks.
WHAT, IF ANY, CHANGES HAVE YOU MADE TO YOUR STAGE SET-UP OR YOUR LIVE PERFORMANCE WITH THE FINALS IN MIND?
We’ve incorporated new instruments and sounds to every song to really give them each their own, unique voice. We won’t give all the details away, but we’re excited to showcase our new direction and the evolution of songs you’ve heard before.
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THE BIG NIGHT?
We know the competition is going to be tough, so we're ready to put on our best show, have a great time and enjoy the experience. After all, it’s The Metro!
WHAT EFFECT DO YOU THINK WINNING WOULD HAVE ON THE BAND?
Winning would be a fantastic achievement and expose us to a larger audience. Funnily enough, we’ve started to gain some traction in Europe through iTunes sales this year and have been dying to play live over there.
CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FESTIVAL SO FAR? ANY FUNNY ANECDOTES FROM YOUR PREVIOUS SHOWS OR REHEARSALS LEADING UP TO THE FINALS?
Since entering the competition, we’ve continued to push ourselves as much as possible. We’ve seen so many of our favourite artists play The Lair, The Factory and The Metro; it’s such an incredible opportunity to play on those same stages this early in our career.
IF YOU HAVE THE DESIRE TO SHOUT OUT TO ANY OF THE BANDS OR SAY ANY THANKS, DO SO HERE:
Congratulations to all the bands that have made it this far! Also, special thanks to everyone that continues to go out and support live music and new
artists.
