The interview with BRADLEY OWENS from Sydney, live @the Metro Theatre tonight for Emergenza Festival Australia:
SO, DO YOU THINK YOU'RE READY FOR THE BIG NIGHT?
We've tripled our weekly church visits so hopefully the big guy is on our side.
WHAT'S THE BAND DOING TO GET READY FOR THE FINALS? REHEARSING MUCH?
We're getting so much tighter, we've been having weekly rehearsals in Brookvale. Maccas runs are also a pivotal tradition either before or after practice.
WHAT, IF ANY, CHANGES HAVE YOU MADE TO YOUR STAGE SET-UP OR YOUR LIVE PERFORMANCE WITH THE FINALS IN MIND?
The metro is a pretty big stage so we've taken that into account. I'll be sure to roam around a bit and take it all in. I'm keen to amongst the audience as well and just take it all in.
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THE BIG NIGHT?
Plenty of laughs, great tunes and hoping to be spiritually enlightened by the end of the set.
WHAT EFFECT DO YOU THINK WINNING WOULD HAVE ON THE BAND?
We'd have to take up some German classes and eat more schnitzel. It would be pretty insane. None of us have been to Germany before so hopefully we'd become a bit more cultured and worldly. It would be an experience of a lifetime. For now we just wanna put on a good show.
CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FESTIVAL SO FAR? ANY FUNNY ANECDOTES FROM YOUR PREVIOUS SHOWS OR REHEARSALS LEADING UP TO THE FINALS?
The banter in the semi final was on point. Ramon our guitarist was the best dressed in the 1st round sporting a traditional Chinese shirt. Also Zach our drummer takes out the furthest commute to an Emergenza gig in the semi, flying for 36 hrs to play the gig in his "I Love HK" shirt.
IF YOU HAVE THE DESIRE TO SHOUT OUT TO ANY OF THE BANDS OR SAY ANY THANKS, DO SO HERE:
Thanks to Emergenza for giving us the opportunity to play some fantastic shows and venues. We'd also like to thank our mate Jessica Mauboy, Coopers Brewery and Ash Ketchum.
