You have participated in the Emergenza Festival Edition 2014/2015. What made you decide to take part in it?
We decided to take part in Emergenza 2014/2015 because we thought it was a great opportunity for us as a new band to play at great venues and to promote our music.

As you approach the world final, what is your state of mind?
We are very excited to give a great show and we feel very humbled to have gone all this way!

What is your best memory from your Emergenza experience? 
The show at the scandinavian final at Debaser in Stockholm. We love that venue and all the people there were amazing!

What's behind your band's name? Any specific meaning?
The name Irene means peace and for us that is something we really root for. Also it's one of the leadsingers (Daniel Caesars) grandmothers name.

If you had to choose a famous song that represents your band...which one would it be?
Tricky question, there are so many songs out there but I think we would say Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody. That song is a complete masterpiece.

If your band had another name, what would it be?
Abba if it was not already taken ;)

Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote about your experience on stage?
One funny story is that in the big final show at Debaser in Stockholm Daniels guitar fell of his strap in the middle of a song and one tiny piece was missing to get the strap back on...Desperately he tried to find the piece but failed in the mix of flashing lights and smoke...Then in the soft intro of our song Spaceman he finally found it and could screw it back on to the guitar and get the strap back on...lucky guy...

What can audiences expect from one of your live performances?
They can expect a lot of energy and big choruses.

Before you go on stage, do you have a ritual or a good luck charm that goes everywhere with you?
Everyone have their own way before entering the stage. Some of us go crazy and some are more relaxed.
We always have a big band hug of love before we play though :)

What is your dream gig?
Many dream gigs, Two of us (Daniel and Ludwig) come from the Swedish country side so we have a dream to play at this festival that takes place every summer there in our hometown. It's just by a very beautiful lake and canal.
Then of course the Stockholm Globe Arena ;)

Do you guys have any hobbies? What do you do when you don’t play? 
When we dont play with the band we work professionally as songwriters/producers and musicians.

If you could invite a band or an artist at your party, dead or alive, who would it be?
Elvis, Queen, Michael Jackson. 

What are your short to medium term plans after the international final?
We are currently talking to record labels so we will continue with that.
Also writing new songs for our debut album.

What are your inspirations?
The cool thing about Irene is that all of us have very different inspirations in music. One may listen to punkrock but the other one listens to jazz/rnb. The mix of us playing together creates a very special sound.

Why do you think you deserve to win the 2015 Festival edition?
Because we put a lot of passion and time in to the songs, the performance and everything around it.
This is our love and all we ever wanna do. Be on stage and making people happy!
