Mantracoda
Emergenza was back in Adelaide and at the renowned fowlers live! Kicking off the first heat for the season was duo Mantracoda! They brought to the stage acoustic guitarist and vocalist Jake and mesmerizing flute player Andrea. They captivated the crowd with their set of psychedelic folk tunes! As is always the case in Adelaide the crowd appreciated the set and got right behind the opening act!
Explain Orange
Young up and coming band Explain Orange was the next act to hit the fowlers stage and they brought a youthful rawness with them. The big stage can be a daunting experience but the boys stepped up and seemed to grow in confidence the longer the set went on! The boys had some pretty catchy tunes but a little more work on voice projection and clarity between instruments would see the songs stand out a lot more. These things come with more experience and rehearsals but the talent is there! 'Suitcase' was a highlight of the set with its pop vibe and grooving bass line!
Entropy Disrupted
Heavy act Entropy Disrupted brought a very polished and professional feel to the room. They made their presence felt with a huge sound provided by Al on guitar, Mike on bass and Mike on drums. Front man Simon made his presence felt switching between clean and dirty vocals which kept the listeners engaged. The dirty vocal was his strength and a real stand out! The third last tune was the highlight of the set! Horns up for Entropy Disrupted!
Mc Me
One man beat boxing extraordinaire Mc Me was next to impress the crowd at fowlers! Every noise Mc Me made came from his mouth, which once heard has to be seen to be believed because he leaves many in his wake with the use of only one instrument! Mc Me had a fun and quirky nature about him, but really showed his talent and skill for genuine song writing in his second last tune!
Ash Gale
One of the more polished sets of the night came from Ash Gale and his band. The boys played an impressive set of original tunes that crossed many genres. Ash has a great voice but unfortunately this was lost amongst a little too much on stage noise. Ash has a good charisma and connects with the crowd well winning over many new fans on the night.
Platformer
Two piece pop act Platformer were next to hit the stage. Armed with an electric guitar and a very nice vocal they played a set of their original tunes with a lot of passion and heart. An acoustic guitar would suit this style a lot better.
Archangel
Energy is something that is very important when playing live and Archangel have stacks of it! These guys are a live party and something that has to be witnessed and enjoyed. They sure know how to rev up a crowd!
Massix
Metal act Massix ended the night on a high tearing up the stage with their metal rock riffs! The front man is a total shredder on guitar with a great vocal and is very well supported by all the members in the band! Massix is well suited to the big stage and have a bright future!
