Melbourne bands get loud and proud in Heat 4!

    Heat 4 - Melbourne - The Espy Basement - 16/04/15

    Arctic Temple

Arctic temple were the first band to hit the espy basement stage in heat four. Made up of members from two of the bands that featured in our Melbourne final last season they brought with them a fresh new energy and a lot more enjoyment on stage than the previous year. Some solid playing was provided especially from the drummer who is the backbone of the band. A cover in the middle spiced the set up and it was enjoyable to watch a band having a lot of fun of stage together!

    The Louds

The Louds travelled up the highway from Geelong to grace the espy stage and brought with them an old school rock and roll sound. The blasted through a set of their original tunes and played with a lot of passion.

    Villa Morta

Villa Morta filled the room instantly with their huge sound and powered through an impressive set of prog metal originals. These boys were loud and proud. Their front man has an awesome vocal for this genre and was well backed by a band full of talented musicians. The arrangements were very well constructed and it will be good to see how Villa Morta progress in the future!

    Crimson Drones

Crimson drones have a very interesting sound that I think you could very well call psychedelic rock. They played an interesting set that pleased their fans that came to see them play. Some more work on drawing in new fans would see this band build up a nice fan base. The big stage could be just what this band needs!

    Copious

Female duo Copious played a beautiful set of original songs that silenced the crowd for the entire set! Main vocalist Melody has a beautiful voice that is full of emotion and she is well backed by solid backing on the electric rhythm guitar.

    Who's This?

Who’s This? Brought the largest crowd of the night to the espy basement and they impressed with their set of genre bending original tunes. Some awesome bass grooves were laid down and some very nice clean guitar playing by front man Lewis! Last song of the set was the highlight. It was also good to see a band not limit themselves and have a little fun on stage with some nice jams!

    Morth

Morth don’t just play music, they put on a show! This set was just as good visually as musically. Morth are your modern day glam rockers with a horror edge themed band! Morth played very tightly on stage and were very well lead by a front man who captivates the crowd and has a killer rock voice! This is the sort of band that needs a big stage so it will be good to see what they produce in the future!
