Bands fire up for Heat 2 at The Lair!

    Heat 2 - Sydney - The Lair - 26/03/15

    J's Envy

Opening up heat two at the lair were young rockers J's Envy who also brought a huge crowd with them! These guys were the surprise packet of the night with their energy on stage providing great entertainment for the crowd! The crowd was clapping along in many tracks and even when the guys made the odd mistake they didn't let it bother them, they just kept on ploughing through! It is important for these guys to work hard at rehearsals though to make sure they don't have these same sort of errors in future rounds because when they were playing well they sounded great!

    Victor Steele

Victor Steel took to the stage with his band and swooned through a set of songs about life and love. All the songs were very well written and arranged but there was no real energy on the stage from the band which made it hard for the crowd to connect with them.

    The Otherwise Men

Three piece rockers The Otherwise Men brought a huge sound to the stage and immediately impressed with their original tunes and tightness as a band! The band reminded this listener of a young 'Silverchair' with their sound. In ‘No rainbow’ lead guitarist Nathan showed his skills with a killer solo. The lads had a full on rock out on final track ‘Kingdom’ which also had a nice bass riff solo that the crowd couldn't help but clap along to. Horns up for The Otherwise Men!

    Vacant Shade

Our only punk band of the night was Vacant Shade. The highlight of their set was the amount of energy they have on stage, but they must be careful that it doesn't get in the way of their playing as occasionally the playing was a little messy. A band so young can easily improve though and with more rehearsals these guys could do anything as they no their genre very well and put on an excellent show!

    Be Faced

Metal act Be Faced won over many new fans on the night with their set of original material! The set featured supreme shedding from front man Justin along with awesome drumming and double kick from Dylan. They finished off their set with a fast pace belter called ‘Wrath’! The moshing took off in this track with a circle even developing! The crowd thoroughly enjoyed this set and Be Faced made many new fans!
