    SheWolf Opens Up To Emergenza

Talking to rock band SheWolf about the upcoming state final at The Hi-Fi in Melbourne

There’s no denying these girls know how to entertain—their hard rocking tunes combined with attention to their look and stage performance makes a SheWolf gig stand out as professional grade in a sea of unsigned bands. Taking classic rock to a new level and spinning the classic girl band image on its head, these girls are ready to rock for the state final this Sunday at The Hi-Fi. Before they go on, they sit down to chat with their old friends Emergenza:

EXPLAIN TO US WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT YOUR BAND FROM ANY OTHER BAND IN YOUR GENRE?
Firstly, there are very few all girl bands who play our genre of music. Also, we feel we bring unique elements to the rock genre, pulling from all styles of music to write our songs, and shaking up the rock n roll scene a little with our unique style.

WHAT FIRST GOT YOU INTO SONG WRITING AND PLAYING LIVE?
Well, as kids, we were really into gaming, and guitar hero had just come out, and we really wanted to play, however when we asked our parents to get the game for us, they simply said, "If you want to play music, we'll buy you real instruments, and forget the plastic stuff."

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT A SHEWOLF GIG?
We go all out, costumes, hair and makeup, and we choreograph dance routines. We switch things up every gig, just to make sure that those fans who come to lots of gigs don't see and hear the exact same sets every time. And of course, we have as much fun as possible with the crowd and just enjoy ourselves every second.

WHAT’S THE MOST INSANE PART OF EMERGENZA SO FAR?
The fact that we've made it to this point is in itself pretty incredible. We feel so stoked to be competing in the state finals with Victoria's best bands at such an awesome venue, and we really couldn't have asked for more than that.

HOW’S IT FEEL TO BE IN THE STATE FINALS? AND WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT PLAYING THE HI-FI?
It feels pretty amazing, The Hi-Fi is such a cool venue, and it's not every day a band gets to play there. We're just looking forward to getting up there and putting on a good show.
