Once described as a band that spends most of its time fighting for the front of the stage… Melbourne band TWSS is certainly going to be doing just that Sunday, November 30th at The Hi-Fi for the state final of Emergenza Festival Australia, where they’ll be battling it out with thirteen other bands. The competition is stiff, but TWSS will make sure they’re seen and heard. Check out what they had to say to us before the big gig.

EXPLAIN TO US WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT YOUR BAND FROM ANY OTHER BAND IN YOUR GENRE?
Very few bands have such a varied collection of personalities. It pushes us to create hybrids of each person’s ideas that usually generate songs that are pretty unique.

WHAT FIRST GOT YOU INTO SONG WRITING AND PLAYING LIVE?
Women… but when we realised that didn’t work the music kind grew on us.

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT A TWSS GIG?
ENERGY!!!! Every ounce of energy we have is put into a TWSS performance. We were once described as a band that spends most of its time fighting for the front of the stage… we like that description very much!

WHAT’S THE MOST INSANE PART OF EMERGENZA SO FAR?
The venues, sound and production have been fantastic! Also, the standard of the acts has blown us away!

HOW’S IT FEEL TO BE IN THE STATE FINALS? AND WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT PLAYING THE HI-FI?
Obviously it feels great! There is nothing better than seeing a sea of people rocking out to your music… So bringing the rock to The Hi-Fi is what we are most looking forward to!
