No strangers to the stage by this time, Melbourne band The Strangers in Town are getting psyched up for the state finals of Emergenza Festival Australia this Sunday, November 30th at the prestigious Hi-Fi. They’re raring to let loose on stage with their outrageous punk rock tunes, but manage to hold out for a quick pre-show chat with us:

EXPLAIN TO US WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT YOUR BAND FROM ANY OTHER BAND IN YOUR GENRE?
We're different because unlike other bands we love the music so much that we don't even have to think about the music anymore, we just have fun and play whatever the situation brings.

WHAT FIRST GOT YOU INTO SONG WRITING AND PLAYING LIVE?
Writing songs first came to us as a way to express how we feel and it soon manifested into something more that people began to listen and relate to.

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT A THE STRANGERS IN TOWN GIG?
You'll never see a group of guys having as much fun on stage as we do.

WHAT’S THE MOST INSANE PART OF EMERGENZA SO FAR?
Playing some of our favourite venues that also happen to be the most influential venues in Victoria.

HOW’S IT FEEL TO BE IN THE STATE FINALS? AND WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT PLAYING THE HI-FI?
It’s so overwhelming to be put into a bracket with some of the best bands we've seen in the local scene. The best part about playing The Hi-Fi is that it is a venue where we've all seen some of our favourite bands, including; NOFX, Violent Soho, Bowling for Soup, and Less Than Jake.
