    Sitting Down With Blackwater

Talking to hard rock band Blackwater about what they’re doing to prepare for their upcoming semifinal gig at The Gov this Sunday

These guys have the right idea, taking the time to hone their kicking classic hard rock sound before their upcoming show at The Gov. Before they take the stage, we sit down with the guys in Blackwater to talk more about what they’re doing to prepare for the gig and what their looking forward to most about the Emergenza semifinals at The Gov this Sunday, November 23rd. Check it out here:

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND BLACKWATER?
Blackwater are a South Australian hard rock band formed in 2008 by members Ben (Lead vocals and bass), Bam (guitar) and Bad-T (drums). Heavily influenced by rock and metal artists of all eras, Blackwater’s sound remains unique and can be defined as dynamic, hard hitting and anthemic.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
When they were announcing the final bands to get through, we were the last one to be announced. It was a nice achievement for the whole band.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
“Lost Soul” always seems to be the best reaction from the crowd. It's a hard hitting song.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
We've always prided ourselves on our professionalism and stage presence and feel that it came through on the 1st round.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
We have been refining our set down to our best four songs for the semifinal, which will give us the best impact.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
It's a bit surreal, we always put everything we have into our shows and it was an achievement for the band to get through to the semifinals.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE GOV?
We always strive to continue to grow the Blackwater family with each gig. Regardless of the outcome from the night, if we end up with a few more fans, then the night was a success.
