The Motive: Giving Us Reason To Believe

The Motive get us psyched up for their kicking hard rock show this Sunday at The Gov for the festival semifinals

Before the guys in melodic hard rock band The Motive take their kicking live show to The Gov in Adelaide, we sit down to find out more about the band, see how the first round of Emergenza Festival went and find out why they’re so psyched out about the semifinals at The Gov this Sunday, November 23rd. Be sure to come down and rock out with them then, and in the meantime, read what the band had to say to us here:

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND THE MOTIVE?
The Motive have been playing together for 18 months or so and love what we do. Our line up is: Heath Weber; Vocals/Guitar, Michael Petkovic; Vocals/Bass, Danial Cava; Lead Guitar, Chad Howard; Drums.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
The highlight for us in the first round was being able to grace the stage at The Gov again. Such a great venue. Was a great lineup of bands also which kept the night interesting for the punters who came out.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
Our song "Livin'" probably had the biggest crowd reaction. It's a fun upbeat song with some real energy to it.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
We learnt more about the competition itself in the first round we competed in. It was nice to meet the people behind the scenes and see the work that goes in when organising something of this complexity.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
We have been relatively busy of late playing with some of the countries finest up and coming bands including The Elliotts, Virtue, Ice On Mercury, Jungle City along with a couple of sold out local show cases which have been a stack of fun.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
We are excited to be performing in the state final for the competition and are running on the motto of "you got to be in it to win it".

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE GOV?
First place and a crack at the nationals!
