    Another Go ‘Round With Capewolf

Sydney band Capewolf sits down to catch us up before they hit the stage at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals

Indie pop rockers Capewolf are gearing up for another round of the festival, this time at The Factory Theatre in Sydney. But before they hit the stage, the band sits down to catch us up on what they’ve been up to since the last time they rocked out on the Emergenza stage. Don’t miss them this Saturday, November 15th, and in the meantime, check out the interview here:

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND CAPEWOLF?
We are a high school indie rock band from Sydney who write original songs. Our members consist of Astari on vocals, Rhian on bass, Nicolai on drums, and Ronnie and Natalie on guitars.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
The highlight of the first round would definitely be seeing all our friends in the crowd who came to support us.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
I think the song that got the biggest reaction would be our original song “Concrete Heart” because our friends had all heard it before, and it’s quite catchy and fun to play.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
It was great getting the opportunity to play on a professional stage, and we all just had a really fun night getting ready for the gig and performing together.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
We performed at Bondi Blymp, which was really fun! We have also been rehearsing heaps and working more on our stage presence and developing our sound and making it more “us".

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
We are stoked—getting to the finals would be crazy but we are just really happy to have made it here!

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE FACTORY THEATRE?
We hope to have a great night playing some of our new songs and seeing all our friends in the crowd—and hopefully we get enough votes to get to the finals!
