    Breaking The Rules With Dlinkwnt

Setting their own rules for the semi-finals at The Factory Theatre are Sydney band Dlinkwnt

Before Sydney band Dlinkwnt (pronounced delinquent) set the stage on fire at The Factory Theatre, they sit down to talk to us about how the first round went and what might be in store for the upcoming semi-finals. Don’t miss your chance to see them rock out this Saturday, November 15th, and in the meantime, check out our pre-show interview with the band:

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND DLINKWNT?
Hailing from Wollongong, Dlinkwnt delivers funky tunes that satisfy tastes from young to old. As a complete unit, Dlinkwnt has arrived with a single purpose: Dlinkwnt are here to deliver hard-hitting lyrics meshed with a depth of music that only a live band can deliver.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
Well, not being from Sydney, we had wondered how the Sydney crowd would receive us, we were absolutely chuffed when by the end of the set literally the entire crowd was jumping and cheering us on.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
Our set closer “Last Night” is always a big banger, so much so that in the previous heat at The Lair the crowd demanded an encore with which we were happy to accommodate.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
The level of professionalism we experienced from the sound tech crew was some thing we have been yet to see anywhere in our local area, they were happy to accommodate our requests and had our sound perfect come show time, it was after experiencing this we knew that we were working and performing along side professionals, which we loved.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
Some of us have been at work, others at uni but over all as a band we have been working hard to lock in fresh unheard material to showcase at The Factory Theatre

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
Quite awesome to be honest as we said before, we have been in band comps before but Emergenza is something we will be suggesting to our friends’ bands as it is an experience every band should try, and with a prize like a trip to Germany to represent our country, what’s not to love?

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE FACTORY THEATRE?
More and more experience in bigger and better shows. Increasing our fan base and making new contacts with venues and other bands so we can start to structure a tour soon.
