Inside The Heads Of The Raging Monkey’s

Getting inside the heads of Adelaide band The Raging Monkey’s before they go on stage at The Gov

We sit down with The Raging Monkey’s to get our heads around their signature sound and find out more about the artists before they hit the stage at The Gov this Thursday, October 30th for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. Don’t miss your chance to rock out to their acid funk rock fusion, and in the meantime, check out what the band had to say to us here:

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME THE RAGING MONKEY'S?
We came up with the name The Raging Monkey's randomly one night while we were hanging out and laughing at random things. We thought it was funny at the time and people seem to like it.

WHAT’S YOUR LIVE SET UP LIKE?
Our live set up features Luke Buckle on six-string or five-string acoustic guitar and vocals, Bradley Robinson playing either electric five-string or acoustic four-string bass guitar, and Adam Smith on the drums.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
    Acoustic Acid Pop.

WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR MAJOR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
I don’t have all three of us here so I can’t answer this question, sorry!

WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE TOGETHER AS A BAND?
We traveled just over 4000 kms to play four gigs over four days with our drummer with a broken back. That was the first leg of our "World Tour" to showcase our debut ‘Down By The Riverside… [EP]’.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT YOUR SHOW AT THE GOV?
We look forward to playing an awesome set in front of some new people and hearing some new music... plus The Gov's stage sound is amazing!

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
We chose Emergenza because we have competed in it before in another band a few years ago, we had a really good time and we believe we can win it.
