    Inside The Heads Of Indiago

Q and A with Adelaide band Indiago before they hit the stage this Wednesday at The Gov

The guys in Adelaide band Indiago are getting psyched up for putting on a kicking live show at The Gov this Wednesday, October 29th, when they battle it out in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. Before the show they sit down to indulge us by answering a few of our q’s. Check out the interview here while you’re waiting for them to take the stage.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME INDIAGO?
Shallow story really... "Diego" was a nickname between some of the members, so we wanted to incorporate that somehow. A few ideas flew, but "Indiago" just seemed to work. Something different and it gives nothing away.

WHAT’S YOUR LIVE SET UP LIKE?
Our live set-up is all out Rock N Roll. Three electric guitars, bass, big drums and soaring vocals.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
    Captivating. Strong. Emotive.

WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR MAJOR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
Between the five of us, our taste in music varies from funk, to blues, to edm, to metal, to acoustic, to hip hop. Foo Fighters, B.B. King, Kings Of Leon, Sticky Fingers, City and Colour... there are too many to name.

WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE TOGETHER AS A BAND?
Probably our week recording over in St. Kilda at Hothouse Audio. An entire week of non-stop drinking (etc.), with little-to-no sleep. Stayed in a hostel with a bunch of alcoholic Irish folk, bloody good times.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT YOUR SHOW AT THE GOV?
We're looking forward to playing with some artists who we usually wouldn't play with. Really we just love playing and putting on a show, so we look forward to getting feedback on that.

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
We chose Emergenza because they actually came forward and contacted us, set up a meeting and told us what it was all about. Usually competition's not our thing, but it seemed like an awesome opportunity.
