More hilarity ensues in this pre-show interview with Sydney band Jackie Brown. Before they take their hard, funky rock and roll to the stage at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals, they joke about the first round and what may go down for the semis. FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND JACKIE BROWN?
If you didn't see us at the first show, you wouldn't know to bring a spare pair of underwear.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
It was our first proper gig experience as a band and it felt truly incredible to have people enjoying our music almost as much as we do.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
The one that went DUMMMM DUNNANA NUH NEH NANU, WOWDUNNNANANA WOW DUNNANANAAAAA. It's basically about being as the desperate edge of a knife and we guess people really relate to that.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
Number one. Safety comes first. Then team work. Once you get those two down… and in order anything is possible.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
We've got a whole new set list... only keeping a couple songs from the first round. We’re still a new band so were using these and all our gigs to experiment with our sound and find something our audience and us can groove along to.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
Canich diche kitsen? That's German for would you like a tickle? In short, yes, we’re very excited about the possibility to go live it up in Germany with all our European brothers.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE FACTORY THEATRE?
Other than a place in the finals? Maybe a few post show blow jobs and a night out shouted by some fat cat record producer who saw our show and thought to himself, “I gotta get these guys some babes, some cocaine and some Gold Sneakers to match the Gold records we'll be making together.”
