Before Sydney band 46 Clicks brings their outrageous, genre shattering rock and roll to the stage at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals, they sit down to catch up with Emergenza Festival Australia. 46 Clicks is Doc, Wes and Lil Nicky—three street skaters from Saint Maria's Underground.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
Wes groovin’ down low, Sic stylin’ his psychedelic mask! That's for sure.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
It would have been “Decimated Days” when Lil Nicky was spraying that blood from his knuckles!

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
It was a first round like no other first round. The air was cold that night, the breeze seemed damp. I remember talking to a Chinese women out the front of the venue about where to buy a chisel. I learned where to get one, but it was too late….

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
Spending time camping in the deserts of Saint Maria's working on songs. We’re preparing by adopting a glucose free diet and growing rad moustaches.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
We think it’s rad. We haven't done a battle of the bands in quite a while, it feels fuckrad to be back in that stratosphere.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE FACTORY THEATRE?
The ability to shift 'wants' into the 'needs' category with the knowledge to know better.
