Getting Revved Up For The Show With Foot Filth

Sydney garage punk band Foot Filth sits down to share thoughts about their upcoming gig at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals

This garage punk band from Sydney does some pretty weird things to get in the mood to play. Check out this pre-show interview where Foot Filth talks to us about what they’re doing to prepare for their upcoming gig at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals of Emergenza Festival Australia. And be sure to check out their raucous live show this Saturday, October 18th.

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND FOOT FILTH?
We are small group of windows 98 lovers consisting of Cooper dropping that phat bass, Ed (avicii) making beats that will make you weak at the knees and Lewis yelling irrelevant lyrics plucking strange melodies.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
There was a McDonalds next door to the venue.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
Probably our first song “Gravedweller” by The Wytches, people weren’t expecting us to ruin such a great song.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
It was an overall fun night and we really learnt that a $2 chicky mayo goes down great at 10:30 on a Sunday night.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
We haven’t been up to a lot other than crusin in a 1998 green polo and munchin on doritios and milk. To prepare for the gig we watched Spy Kids 2 on mute.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
It’s nothing but a spooky feeling.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE FACTORY THEATRE?
    Hopefully good-looking women.
