Getting Pumped Up For The Gig With Chained Lizard…

Melbourne rock band Chained Lizard gets unchained in this pre-show interview before the semi-final round at The Espy

Chained Lizard is nothing short than pumped up to have another go at The Espy. This time, they’re taking their high-energy rock and roll show to The Gershwin Room for the semi-finals of Emergenza Festival Australia. Don’t miss your chance to see them this Friday, October 10th, and while you’re waiting for them to go on check out this pre-show interview with the band.

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND CHAINED LIZARD?
Chained Lizard is a four-piece original rock band formed in Melbourne. We've got John on guitar, Chris on drums, Tom on bass and Amy on vocals.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
It was our first show together with our new lead singer, the crowd was insane! And It was also great to see all the other talented bands.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
"Falling For You" Because it was the first single we released and the first time our fans heard us play it live.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
Everybody was very professional! It was great performing to a huge crowd! Overall it is great being involved in Emergenza Festival.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
Constant rehearsals and band meetings. We've played a bunch of shows and been recording some new tunes.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
AMAZING!! We are all so pumped and excited, we want to put on the best show we can!!

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE ESPY?
To put on the best performance we can and make it through to the next round!
