    Stacy Gacy In Your Faces

Up close and personal with the guys from Stacy Gacy before they hit the stage at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals

Before Stacy Gacy burns another roof down with their outta control garage punk tunes—this time for the semi-finals of Emergenza Festival Australia at The Factory Theatre—the band sits down to catch up with us. Don’t miss their blitzing stage show this Friday, October 10th, and while you’re waiting, check out what the band had to say here:

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND STACY GACY?
"Well we don’t want to ruin all the surprise, but we're loud, frantic and a lot of fun."

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
Playing at The Lair was a highlight in itself but the biggest highlight was watching different band members perform in different parts of the venue during the set. By our last song Jake was sitting on one p.a. stack, Pat was standing on the other and Mitch was up on the balcony somewhere making people sing along.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
Our song called “The Oi Song”, was 100% written with crowd participation in mind, and we usually get a good indicator of how much a crowd liked or hated us from that song alone. Suffice to say the reaction we got definitely exceeded our expectations.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
First round taught us that the only thing more important than sticking to plans/set times, is flexibility and ability to think on our feet. We had a number of other bands drop out, so that saw us get an extra five minutes stage time and we played much earlier than expected. Gotta learn to roll with the punches!

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
In between we've been practising, playing, writing, avoiding the 9-5 and most importantly, partying. We've got a new song finished that we can't wait to play on the big stage.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
It's exciting really. We are focused on playing an awesome show, hopefully making a few new fans, and with any luck a few enemies too. Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition, right? It's the biggest stage any of us have played so we can't wait to tear it up, and represent Sydney Live Music!

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE FACTORY THEATRE?
Most of the bar's stock, a pretty girl's number for Mitch, and hopefully, a whole lot of votes.
