    Semi-Final Chat with Static Revenue

Melbourne band Static Revenue sits down to talk about the upcoming semi-finals

Melbourne band Static Revenue are back again at The Espy with their hard rocking Rage-on-crack tunes, this time for the semi-finals of Emergenza Festival Australia. Don’t miss your next chance to see their insane, high-energy show this Thursday, October 9th. Before they go on, they sit down with us to talk about how the first step went and what’s in store for the semis.

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND STATIC REVENUE?

We are a five-piece alternative act from the southeastern suburbs consisting of, with Nick Brown on vocals, Sean McIntyre on guitar, Mitch Parry on guitar, Pat Gamble on bass, and Nathan Custerson on drums.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
The highlight would be the positive feedback we received and getting through to the next round.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
“Killing In The Name” because it’s a classic banger and always gets people singing along.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
We came, jumped around a lot, got really sweaty for 25 minutes and had a beer afterwards.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
We're in the process of writing some new songs, which is cool, and we've just been jamming a lot and trying to tighten up our tunes.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
    Pretty cool.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE ESPY?
We just want to do what we love doing, which is playing live music, anything else is just bacon sauce to us.
