Two’s Enough For Grunge Duo Saint Henry

For Melbourne band Saint Henry two pieces are more than enough to exorcise their dark, power grunge souls

With song titles like “Dracula Eyes” and “Psych Ward” Melbourne band Saint Henry definitely has a macabre, horror vibe going on and a super fuzzed out, hysterical stoner grunge sound to provide the perfect counterpoint. They definitely take their hard rocking two-piece set up from bands like DZ Deathrays and The White Stripes, but there’s something in there that’s just ever-so-slightly-Fu Manchu, particular in “Dracula Eyes”, which has a little “Mongoose” vibe to it. There’s no denying, this duo understands the importance of the riff. And the result is a repertoire of hard rocking songs that have the same power to get stuck in your head as a pop song. Saint Henry is looking forward to raising some serious hell on stage at The Espy this weekend. As they say, “better hold your crucifix tight, and pray for daylight…” Catch them this Saturday, September 13th where they’ll be battling it out with a host of other local bands in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia.
