The Raw Hysteria of Chief Protagonist
Getting super psyched listening to the raucous tunes of Melbourne band Chief Protagonist
We couldn’t say it any better than the band itself when Chief Protagonist described their sound as a raucous, emotional, fuzz-cannon. They’ve got a bluesy, melancholic, and yet sort of icy, vibe all at the same time. Just listen to their original song “Solar Wind”, whose bleak soundscape provides the backdrop for the raw, frenetic energy of the vocalist who explodes from the non-chalent into the hysterical at the drop of a hat. If you’re a fan of guys like Ty Segall and Fidlar, you’ll love Chief Protagonist. They're hoping to be the protagonists on stage this Saturday, September 13th at The Espy, where they go head to head against a line up of local Melbourne bands in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. Planning a last minute switch up in the line up department, these guys aren’t fazed in the least. For them it’s all about letting pure emotion pour out through their instruments and voices. You’re not going to want to miss this band. More show info here.
