    Pre-Show Conversation With Saint Henry

This hard rocking grunge two-piece sits down to talk to us before they go on stage at The Espy this Saturday

This power grunge duo from Melbourne is looking forward to raising some serious hell on stage at The Espy this weekend. Catch Saint Henry this Saturday, September 13th where they’ll be battling it out with a host of other local bands in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. Before you do, make sure to read more about the band in this pre-show interview.

WHAT'S THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE NAME SAINT HENRY?
Well we had a few names in mind but one day Dave just said How about Saint Henry? And at the time we thought it sounded kinda medieval and cool in a way that it would associate nicely with our heavy grunge sound, so it stuck!

WHAT'S YOUR LIVE SET UP LIKE?
We are a two-piece, so we take our live set up from bands such as DZ Deathrays and White Stripes where we spread ourselves out next to each other and use the stage space.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
    Energetic, Loud, Riff.

WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR MAJOR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
DZ Deathrays, Rise Against, Violent Soho. Anyone sticking it to the man while doing shots at the same time.

WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE TOGETHER AS A BAND?
Well when we played at our local battle of the bands Hayden mounted the bass drum and jumped off it while knocking one of the feedback monitors off stage while trying to catch it. That was a rad/oh shit that's expensive moment.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT YOUR SHOW AT THE ESPY?
Seeing heaps of other killer bands and just having a great night performing!

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
Emergenza has a worldwide following, also we know a few members from Mercury White (2014 winners) so seeing them do so well all while having a great time really shows where hard work and Emergenza can take you.
