These multi-taskers take time out from studying music to write, record, and perform live as much as possible. As if life weren’t hectic enough, they’re adding a battle of bands to their schedules. Check out their bluesy, indie tunes this Friday, September 12th at The Espy where they battle it out in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. And before you do, read what The Black Harrys had to say to us in this pre-show interview:
HOW DID YOU DECIDE ON YOUR NAME THE BLACK HARRYS?
Harry-Blackall is Connors last name, so we got it from that.
WHO PLAYS WHAT IN THE BAND AND WHAT KEEPS YOU INSPIRED TO PLAY MUSIC TOGETHER?
Julian plays drums, Angus plays bass and Connor plays guitar and sings. We are all passionate music lovers who are studying music and are trying to find as much time in between year 12 to write, record and play together as possible.
IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Indie, bluesy, roots.
WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR MAJOR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
Boy and bear, John butler, Matt Corby
WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE TOGETHER AS A BAND?
Driving up to Byron together, competing in a busking comp and ultimately getting to play at the blues fest
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT YOUR SHOW AT THE ESPY?
Hearing other talent around Melbourne, meeting new people and getting involved in the emergenza scene
WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
Being suggested it on Facebook by a fan
