    Sitting Down With Static Revenue

Talking to the guys of Static Revenue before they take the stage at The Espy

The young guys in Static Revenue are super psyched about the possibility of taking their love of music and turning it into a career where they can inspire people on important issues… and rock them as well, with, as they say, their Rage Against The Machine-on-crack vibe. Don’t miss the chance to see their high energy stage show tomorrow night, September 12th at The Espy for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. And before you do, check out what Static Revenue had to say to us in this pre-show interview:

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME STATIC REVENUE?
Our singer came up with the name, it means a couple of different things which we think makes it interesting….

WHO PLAYS WHAT IN THE BAND AND WHAT KEEPS YOU INSPIRED TO PLAY MUSIC TOGETHER?
Nick Brown on vocals, Sean McIntyre on guitar, Mitch Parry on guitar, Pat Gamble on bass, Nathan Custerson on drums. What keeps us inspired is the dream of potentially creating music for a living and hopefully provoking questions/emotions and educating people on issues. The chance to impact people and the passion we have drives us to go as far as humanly possible to achieve our dreams.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
    Rage On Crack.

WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR MAJOR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
Rage Against The Machine, letlive., System Of A Down, Deftones, The Offspring, Stray From the Path, and many others.

WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE TOGETHER AS A BAND?
Playing a gig with our singer in a sling, bassist with a knee brace, having one guitarist not playing and our drummer rushing to the gig from work five minutes before we went on.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT YOUR SHOW AT THE ESPY?
Performing in front of people is something we all love doing but The Espy's been very good to us so just playing in such an iconic venue means a lot to us.

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
We really liked hearing how it started out very small and gradually expanded to become this huge competition of sorts. It's accomplished something we one day hope to accomplish so we have a lot of respect in that regard.
