Catching Up With Crossbone Carnival Before They Hit The Stage

Before this Melbourne band takes the stage at The Espy for the semi finals they sit down to catch up with Emergenza

Crossbone Carnival definitely made an impact last time they played The Espy—they laid down their groovy, blues-rock riffs and knickers went flying. No wonder they made it to the semi finals! Don’t miss your chance to see them play this Friday, September 11th alongside six other local bands in an effort to make it to the finals of Emergenza Festival Australia. And before you do, check out what they band had to say to us:

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND CROSSBONE CARNIVAL?
Dallas, Tish, Graham, Dylan, Reeves, and Ryan are the ones who create a Carnival of tunes. We play for the love of music, a variety of rock sounds with a lot of reckless fun.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
For Tish it was having a pair of knickers thrown up on stage. Mine (Dallas) would be when everyone started swaying their arms and getting into our song “Partners in Crime”... Bliss....

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
“Partners in Crime”, because it's a song that I think everyone can relate to, it has a cruisy sound and a song a lot of our fans know....

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
To make sure band members are communicating with each other during our set and to chill more and enjoy the short, wonderful moment.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
A lot of rehearsals and picking the write songs the audience would appreciate.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
Freakin' awesome! The band is excited and can't wait to play the next gig. One step closer to Germany baby! Woo hoo!

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE ESPY?
The whole thing has been a learning experience for us being a young band, we hope to take all what we learn and nail it when we get to Germany!
