Genre busting Sydney band 46 Clicks mix street punk, power pop rock, and old school rock and roll into their explosive sound. They’re getting ready to rock the house at The Lair with songs off their official debut EP Cuttin Loose. Catch them this Sunday, August 31st when they go head to head with six other local bands in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. Before the show, 46 Clicks hangs out with us to answer a few of our questions.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME 46 CLICKS?
The name 46 Clicks was chosen because it's a noun, a verb and a number… backwards, and that's so fucking rad!

WHAT'S YOUR LIVE SET UP LIKE?
Our live set up is quite complicated, we can't really wear runners, sandals or clogs while were doing our thing onstage. That's why it's really important we have our skate shoes.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Streetrock trio—total mind fuck.

WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR MAJOR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
Guns N Roses, Liberace, The Living End, Slipknot, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bill Bailey and The Thundersluts, Super Jesus, The Smashing Pumpkins and Fred Durst and Wes Borland.

WHERE HAVE YOU PLAYED BEFORE AND WHAT WOULD BE A DREAM GIG FOR YOU?
We've played places ranging from the gutters of Western Sydney to the gutters adjacent to some of Sydney's biggest landmarks. We wanna be the first band to play in space. It really just depends on where the space program is really going. The ball is in NASA's court.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT YOUR SHOW AT THE LAIR?
We wanna plug into a real power source and blow the roof off Sydney from the inside out!

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
Emergenza isn't treating their band comp like a TV talent show. It's about the live music experience with Emergenza, and it's our kinda band comp cause that's what 46clicks is all about.
