Garage Blues Newsflash: The National Evening Express
The National Evening Express infuses the very best of garage, stoner and blues in their original tunes—catch them at The Espy August 1st
Anyone with a little blues inside them can definitely appreciate the tunes of The National Evening Express. Self-described as brash, sexy, rock, we might go a little rougher with something along the lines of swamp, stoner garage blues…. These guys have the blues bubbling out of them, but stay far away from the twelve bar, and instead go for more stoner chord progressions, garage blues rhythm sections, and killer riffs—definitely, as the band says, showing us that rock and roll is not dead! The killer riff and gritty, deep, bluesy vocals on “Elvis Pills” will get your body moving, whereas the slightly heavier, swampier, hard rock tune “Little Joe” will get you really fired up. And you better be getting psyched up because The National Evening Express will be bringing these tunes and many more to the stage at the prestigious Espy in Melbourne where they’ll battle it out with six other local in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. Tomorrow night, August 1st. Be there. More details on the show here.
