Bringing Us Honky Tonk Aussie Style: RUCKUS
Melbourne band RUCKUS shows us it’s not just Americans that know how to Honky Tonk—on stage at The Espy, August 1st
Pumping out good ol’ American honky tonk country swing delivered in the most authentic Aussie accent, Melbourne band RUCKUS definitely sets themselves apart from the norm. Great videos of sentimental tunes like “Smiley, What About The Roses” about saving a rose from a wildfire, these guys show they’re real professionals. Total command of their instruments, solid song writing, and an understanding of creating a multi media image for the modern music industry. Their hilarious parody of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”, entitled "Devil Pub", where instead of a fiddle contest, it’s a drinking contest, and it’s proven that not even the devil himself is a match for an Aussie when it comes to drinking with lyrics like “beer down the gullet, drink, bubba, drink... devil’s in the dunny with his head in the sink…”... This one will definitely get you reeling with laughter on the dance floor. If you want to stomp your feet to some good ol’ country tunes, then grab your partner and come on down to The Espy tomorrow night, Friday, August 1st where RUCKUS is set to go head to head with six other local bands in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia.
