Before they go on stage at The Espy in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia, Melbourne rock band The National Evening Express sit down with us to give us the low down on who they are as musicians and what’s in store for their upcoming gig. HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME THE NATIONAL EVENING EXPRESS?
The band name was a combination of' The Evening Express, a Scottish newspaper, and making it a nationally big thing.
WHO PLAYS WHAT IN THE BAND AND WHAT KEEPS YOU INSPIRED TO PLAY MUSIC TOGETHER?
MC on bass, Sandro on rhythm guitar, Andrew on lead guitar, Rikki on drums. We all love playing good music and have a desire to write really good songs.
IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Brash, sexy, rock.
WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR MAJOR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
Any band that has been able to release a greatest hits album.

Playing a midnight show and getting home at midday.
