Talking The Semi Finals With Melbourne’s Own Mokoan

This band of brothers from Melbourne talks to us about how the first round went and what’s in store for their semi final gig at The Espy this Thursday

After a kick ass round one show, Melbourne band Mokoan is back to take the stage again at The Espy—this time in The Gershwin Room for the semi finals of Emergenza Festival Australia. Make sure you catch them when they go on this Thursday, July 31st. And in the meantime, check out what the band had to say to us before the gig.

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND MOKOAN?
We are a pop rock group from Melbourne, delivering our diverse style of original material… Members being cousins Paul and Adrian Moleta, with bassist Tony Corsetti.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
The opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team with an awesome stage set up.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
Hard to say… we believe they connected with the overall set, giving a positive response to all songs.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
We learned that there is awesome talent, and the whole atmosphere gives a positive vibe that makes you really wanna be a part of this festival.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
As we do, we continue to put heart and soul into every gig and to build a strong foundation to deliver our original material to the audience.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
    An unexplainable feeling of excitement.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE ESPY?
    Another dynamic experience.
