It’s not just the rumour that Batman would show up that’s bringing King Wong to The Lair next Friday, July 18th. It’s also the fact that they’re getting to rock out on stage for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. While you’re getting pumped up to see them go on, check out what the band had to say in this pre-show interview.

CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO THE MEMBERS OF KING WONG?
We've got Dane on the bass and backups, Nick on guitar and vocals, Daniel on lead guitar and vocals, and James on drums and backups.

WHAT'S YOUR LIVE SET UP LIKE?
Pretty loud, I'd say. I'd like to think we bring some good energy and get the crowd involved—it's always better when people are losing their shit to something you've written. It's a good feeling.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Animals making love.

WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR MAJOR MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Jack White, Prince. Especially Prince, that guy knows how to party.

WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU'VE DONE TOGETHER AS A BAND?
We had a pretty loose night after a gig and it got a little hazy towards the end of the night. We all woke up in the same bed and all of our asses hurt. I think we all just fell down the stairs though?

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT YOUR SHOW AT THE LAIR?
Playing in front of new faces and getting our music out there. Also there was a rumour batman would show up.

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
This is the second year we've been a part of the comp and it just runs smoothly and you get a lot of exposure through the process. Plus the venues you play at are great.
